DIY Lemon Body Scrub | Narssie

LEMON BODY SCRUB

After trying and finishing my Coffee Sugar Body Scrub, I decided to make another body scrub with lemons. The acid in the lemon juice removes dead skin cells and bleaches discolored areas. I suffer hyper-pigmentation so I though that this would be a more easier and convenient way of getting rid of my discoloration.

Let's get started.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups of Sugar (Any sugar would work)
  • 1/2 Cup of Olive Oil
  • 1 TBSP of Honey
  • 1 Lemon (This will be used for the lemon zest and lemon juice)

Now it's the fun part!

First take your lemon and a cheese grinder, and scrap the lemon's skin on top. This is how you get your lemon zest.

Next, pour your 2 Cups of Sugar into your mixing bowl. Then get your 1/2 cup of Olive Oil and pour it slowly on to your sugar, mixing it evenly until there isn't any loose sugar in the bowl. What I did was put 1/4 a cup at a time.

We're almost finished. After you mixed those two, go and cut your zested lemon in half (be careful), then take one half of the lemon and squeeze the juice into your mixing bowl. Mix well. This is what lightens your discoloration. If you don't think it is not enough, go ahead and head your other half.

Now get your lemon zest and pour it in your bowl. Mines made 1/3 of a cup. But I think it depends on the size of the lemon - mine was pretty small. The lemon zest is what makes the body scrub yellow, for the lemony feel. Mix this in well, also, so that everything is yellow.

Lastly, put 1 TBSP of honey into your scrub. This moisturizes your skin after exfoliation.

Place it into your air tight container and use.

ENJOY!

DIY Coffee Honey Sugar Scrub | Narssie

After trying to come up with an idea as to what I should get my friend, Selena, for her birthday, I thought I should see about Do It Yourself Body Scrub. This is my second time making one, the first being the gift, which was a Brown Sugar body scrub. There isn't much to say but to just get on with the DIY.
:)

Air tight container, I found my at a local 99 cents store. Mine is glass, but I would recommend a plastic one, to make it more safer in the shower.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Coffee (I used expresso, but any kind of ground coffee would work)
  • 1 Cup of Sugar (Any kind, even dark/light brown sugar)
  • 9-11 Tbsp of Olive Oil
  • 4-5 Tbsp of Honey
  • 2-3 Tbsp of Almond (or any other) essential oil
**Keep in mind that these ingredients can be adjusted to fit your needs.

Add both the cups of Coffee and Sugar to a bowl and mix both of them.

Next add the oils and honey.

Again, keep in mind that you can adjust the texture of the scrub to your needs, thus why I added 11 TBSPS of Olive Oil instead of by CUPS because I wasn't sure of the exact amount.

Once mixed, you are DONE. :) You can now move it to your jar and keep it for yourself or decorate it for someone else as a gift.

I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
